Most content in this game becomes a task to complete after a while, a daily grind or chore because you want something from it and have to keep doing it to obtain that. Gold Saucer is no different in that regard. For myself I go there when in between other things to play some cards, race chocobo’s or grind MGP for mount/outfits and more cards. I was looking forward to minion fighting attraction before it came out thinking would be more like pokemon battles rather than a moba…I personally do not enjoy moba games in general so in the end I haven’t played vermillion other than once with the tutorial match despite looking forward to it a lot prior to finding out was going to be a minion moba.

The mini events I do for the MGP, not for fun mostly. The triad was fun for a while but became a chore and I do it for the cards and MGP now, the tournaments are horrible because of cheaters. Chocobo racing is still fun in small doses, I don’t do that for the MGP alone yet. The mini lotto is purely for the MGP, not fun and same with jumbo lotto though the jumbo one often feels a complete waste of time since can only do it once a week and it’s been 5 months since our server has even had a top prize winner. As said I do not play the minion moba. Daily I go there and do the challenge log (excluded vermillion) for the MGP. The MGP raising is for the mount and the cards from card packs and things like cloud card etc I am still missing. No matter what they add, after a while it will always become a chore, a routine, a task as long as you have to keep doing it because the thing you want is locked behind doing so.

The exception is things like the main story quests, hildibrand quests and so on because you only do it once normally unless have alts. That’s just the nature of MMO’s but at least SE adds new content quite often every few months which is good. There is nothing much SE can add to gold saucer that will not become a chore eventually if you do it enough times…such is life. It just differs generally person to person how long before it becomes that. The only thing I think SE can keep doing is adding more gold saucer content over time, more events, more games and more rewards/items etc.

Everything in life eventually becomes a chore if do it enough times. Try eating your favorite meal/snack every day for an entire year for example, you will get sick and tired of having it all the time. Every game you ever play if play it enough times and play it daily will become boring and tedious. We are people and not robots, we have limited levels of patience and anything fun if repeated enough times will become a chore. You favorite shirt or dress, wear it every day for a long enough period and you will get sick and tired of that too as another example. You might have a favorite dungeon in game but if run it 10,000 times or run it 100 times a day every single day you will likely become sick to death of it.

That’s the same for everyone, all SE can do is keep adding new content and new things to keep people interested but there is no single one thing SE can add that will be fun forever, for everyone and never becoming a chore. Give SE ideas for that new content but be under no illusion that eventually people will get tired of whatever idea you come up with. They will want more ideas for newer things to get stuck into and begin enjoying after bored of the previous thing because they have done it so much and gained everything they wanted from it. That is the gist of what I was saying earlier in response to you asking for something that won’t become a task/chore. Anything come up with might be fun for a while but it will become a task or chore eventually if done/played enough times.

Since individual feast is so RNG, it would be nice to ‘save’ your highest rating

As in, your score for the season is the peak amount that you had achieved. Got up to 1k+? Great! Want to keep playing and get a bad group of randoms? No worries, your highest rating number is kept to determine your ranking.

As of right now, a lot of people are getting high rankings and then just… stopping. There is no reason to keep playing. In fact, continuing to play can be more damaging than good. This is not really good for the longevity of the game.

If your max rating attained was kept as your ‘permanent’ ranking, one could continue playing without worrying about losing it. If you go below it, it stays at your max, and if you go above it, your max adjusts.

You would still have to get a highest consecutive win, so no, not who plays the most would win. It would not be cumulative.
For example, if I hit 1100, then lost 8 matches and got down to 900, my ‘highest’ score would still be at 1100. I would have to win another 8 matches to get back to 1100. Supposing I won another match, and got to 1125, that would become my new ‘high score’. If something awful happened and my rating dropped down to like 800 from there, and I never recovered, my highest score would be kept at 1125 as my best score.

As of right now, if you get to 1125 and stop playing, that is the optimal play if you want to be in the top 100. My suggestion would just bookmark that score and allow one to continue playing without the fear of losing the highest attained score.

Personally I really like playing. I enjoy the competition and the game, but I would also like to be in the top 100 at the end of the season. We still have quite some time until the season ends. Not only is the mode fun, but it is a great way to get esos and lore and wolf marks.

I had attained a personal best of 1221, which would have put me rather high up on the top 100 for the season. However, I continued to play, and through some bad RNG, disconnecters, feeders, and what have you, I am now not even on the board. It is really discouraging to be so harshly punished for simply continuing to play. Had I just stayed there and quit playing, I would have been better off in rating.

That way, if people want to push themselves for a higher rating, it is less of a gamble and more of a challenge. Dropping off the board after being in the top 20 just because I decided to keep playing is pretty crushing and discouraging.

Summoner Pet Emotes (Even if it’s just Carbuncle)

With the concept of Minion interaction getting around a good bit now (There are quite a number of minions that you can use emotes with since it’s release) would it be too much to ask if we could get SMN in on some of that action?

Now, I’m not talking about like, a /feed emote for our pets, though if they add things like this I wouldn’t complain. No, I’m talking more about emote that your summoned pet does when you do specific emotes.

Take for instance, Victory pose and Battle pose. I really like the addition of these poses and I LOVE how animated and emotive they can be, but for SMN, why can’t our pets do a jig, or have the Egi’s play their Enkindle animation during it?

I know that with pet glamours coming, there would be a lot of work to do with all of the glamour pets, which is why in the title I just mention Carbuncle. He is EASILY the most pushed and out there SMN pet, with multiple furniture, color variants that fulfill different roles, minions AND plushies bring sold with the in game ones at one point.

So if they were to make this a thing, I would be entirely fine if Carbuncle was the only or first one to receive something like this. He is the first pet you get along your journey and the one most players make a connection with, and I for one am happy to have him back at my side.

P.S. I know others are going to bring up that Blade and Soul does this, and I know. It’s one of the reasons I picked it up to try, but the thing that made me want to make this thread was a discussion in my server’s Novice chat that started when a sprout asked if there were any kind of pet emotes in the game and it kicked off from there.
